Rob and I were talking about the new law in Nevada pertaining to getting a permit to tow into or out of Nevada. He called the Department of Transportation and their answers prompted me to call the Nevada Highway Patrol, since they are the ones that will enforce it. They told me that it boils down to being able to say "no" the following.
Don't quote me, but basically.
1. You don't get paid to race or get any money from racing.
2. You don't get reimbursed for any expenses.
3. You don't claim racing on your taxes, or have a corporate sponsor.
If you can say "no" to these questions, you won't have a problem. She said I could use Sergeant Plowman as my source. I don't like to assume, but I suspect he is the NHP commercial enforcement expert.
